What Is Organic?

Organic food manufacturing methods encourage biodiversity, the biological cycling of plants, animal health and nutrients. Certified organic farmers may not use toxic synthetic, artificial fertilizers, pesticides and unwarranted antibiotics or hormones. In its place, they use practices that rebuild, preserve, and improve soil and ecosystem health. Artificial ingredients, Genetically modified organisms (GMOs), or trans fats may not be used.
Why go organic?
1. To Boost the Nutritional Quality of Your Food!
Organic crops are grown in nutritious, biologically vigorous soils. Although crops on organic farms grow to harvest slightly less per acre and frequently take longer to grow than crops on conventional farms, plants cultivated by soil on organic farms yield crops that often comprise of higher levels of vital minerals, vitamins and antioxidants.
2. Reduce Your Exposure to Harmful Synthetic Pesticides.
Standard conventional farmers apply 2-12+ synthetic pesticides to their crops. The regular serving of commonly grown peppers, berries, leafy greens, grapes and tree fruits comprises of three to four pesticide residues. Residues of some broadly used pesticides may activate refined changes in a child’s development, and have been linked to a wide range of health problems including Obesity, autism, ADHD, and evident forms of cancer.
3. Decrease your Intake of Unnecessary Hormones and Antibiotics.
Majority of conventional livestock farmers use a mixture of growth hormones, feed supplements, drugs and high-grain diets to drive their animals to grow quicker, get larger, and create more eggs and milk per day. As well, animals on traditional farms are regularly forced to work so hard that they experience severe health and reproductive complications leading to increased antibiotic use. The National Organic Program (NOP) rule excludes the use of practically all-synthetic animal drugs. At the end of the day, healthy animals create healthier eggs, meat, milk and dairy products.
